The D.A.R.E. Officer is either a serving Police Officer or an ex Police Officer. Each Officer attends an intensive training programme to enable them to deliver the core D.A.R.E. programme in Primary Schools. Officers are trained in how young people learn, current drug use and law and presentation skills. Using the skills from the training and their own life skills the officers are able to give real experiences to the young people on the consequences of not making wise decisions about drug misuse and anti social behaviour.
